Young Thug returns to the mic for his first post-prison verse alongside Lil Baby & Future on “Dum Dumb & Dumber.”
When a rapper wins a high-profile criminal case, fans demand new music before they can even understand what happened. Young Thug, of Atlanta, was released from prison last Halloween after two years behind bars in a RICO case. Thug immediately went radio silent and showed no signs of rushing back to work after the YSL Rico trial.
Lil Baby has previously teased music with Thug since his release from prison and finally delivered his album BANG.
On the track “Dum Dumb & Dumber”, the Atlanta trio composed of Lil Baby, King Slime and Future emerge as a superteam reminding us how long it's been since they collaborated.
“Yeah, nigga, King Spider is back/I don't even think I was locked up, for real, for real/I was doing what I wanted all the time, fool, you know what I'm saying? (Yeah)” Young Thug raps on “Dum Dumb & Dumber.”
Thugger makes it known that his time behind bars was not a typical prison stay and that he lived lavishly. Future and Lil Baby are good additions to the song, but Thug steals the show and skates all over the record. Hours after the track's release, Lil Baby and Thugger revealed even more new music for the deluxe version of BANG.
Although Thug's new verse is nice, his solo music is what people have been waiting for.
