Lake Ricki says she's “living (her) best life” after that. lose 40 pounds without the help of Ozempic or other weight loss products.
“I started on October 26, 2023 and went on this trip,” Lake, 56, reveals exclusively in the latest issue Us Weekly while promoting her collaboration with Stone road holdings to her Ricki Lake & Bake hemp line.
The Hairspray The actress explains that she started by following a “very strict keto diet,” which included intermittent fasting and hiking outside “every day” in a weighted vest.
Since October 2023, Lake has also been doing Pilates “four days a week,” which has helped her lose 40 pounds and keep it off.
“I didn't take any drugs because I wasn't pre-diabetic,” she says, noting, “There's nothing wrong with these drugs. They're actually game-changers for so many people. But I didn't want to be dependent on drugs if I could help it.
Instead of using Ozempic or similar GLP-1 drugsLake shares that she did “her own thing” that was “very specific.”
“I wore a glucose monitor. I wore my Oura ring (which tracks health data). I prioritized sleep and a generally low-stress lifestyle. And it worked,” she reveals. “It continues to work.”
Before talking to WeLake says she took a two-mile hike and attended a Pilates class, which is her norm.
“I took what used to be a job, you know, working out and getting on the elliptical every day, and I hated every minute of it.” the former Lake Ricki talk show host continues. “Now it's a privilege and a joy to be able to move my body without pain, see results (and) fit into my size 4 jeans.”

It's the best feeling in the world to have put in all this hard work and feel good in my own skin,” she continues. “And to be able to share with the world that I did it. I think about it and look at what I've done. And on top of that, I'm so healthy. I'm so strong. And I just want to keep feeling that way.”

Lake notes that over the past year, it's been a “mindset reversal” where working out is no longer a “job” but something “I like to do.”
She says, “I like to slow down and look at nature and move my body, get my heart rate up, sweat.”
Actress – who teased We that she's working on a lifestyle cookbook documenting her health journey — has also turned to cannabis for relaxation and avoids added sugars.
Lake announced him last month collaboration with Stone Road Farms California for her Ricki Lake & Bake products, which are available in area stores.
