The cause of death of Aubrey Plaza's husband, Jeff Bean, has been revealed

Cause of death for Aubrey Squarehusband, director Jeff Brothershas been discovered.

According to the medical examiner's records, which were reviewed Us WeeklyBaen's official cause of death is listed as suicide. The same medical records revealed that an autopsy was conducted and his body could be handed over to the family. At the time of publication, the case status is still listed as “open,” despite the fact that a cause of death has been determined.

No additional reasons or significant circumstances surrounding Baen's passing were listed.

Baena died Friday, Jan. 3, at the age of 47, according to the same medical examiner's records, which were also reviewed by We. So far the conditions around his death were unknown.

Baen is survived by 40-year-old Plaza, who has yet to speak publicly about her husband's passing. We has reached out for comment.

Baena and Plaza first started dating in 2011 and officially tied the knot in 2020 after ten years together. The couple has mostly kept their relationship private, but Plaza opened up about her and Baena's nuptials during a December 2021 appearance The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Although both Baena and Plaza had their own successful solo careers, they were able to work together on many projects including Life after Beta, Small hours and Turn me around.

“She's great. I would work with her if she wasn't my wife, but luckily she is,” Baena told Reel Talker about a possible collaboration with his wife in August 2022. “To be able to do something creative (together) where we or both of us are fulfilled — how rare is that?

Months before Baen's death, the Plaza had briefly discussed her marriage During the September 2024 performance The Howard Stern Show. “I would stay away (from dating actors),” she quipped at the time. “I'm married to a writer/director. I've never, like, really met an actor (or) been with an actor for a long time.

She added: “I think about it and I'm like, 'Oh my God, I don't want to be with myself' or 'I don't want to do this.'” But then sometimes I see that there are so many couples of actors and you, like “Wow, look at them. They must be laughing.”
