John M. Chu has a good ployes in store for Villain: for good.
Indeed, the director recently shared what fans of the first film, released in November, can expect for Cynthia Erivois Elphaba and Ariana GrandeGlinda from in the next episode of 2026 (which has already been filmed).
“If the first movie is about choice,” Jon teased. AND! News in an exclusive interview, “the second film is about the consequences”.
In other words, fans won't have to imagine how Ariana's Glinda and Cynthia Elphaba are really happy (or not) about the next episode. As for Cynthia's recent admission that she wrote a song for her character for the sequel? Jon has remained tight-lipped on the subject, only emphasizing that Glinda and Cynthia's relationship will be at the forefront of the film.
“There might be a few new songs,” he continued. “I will neither confirm nor deny this information. And now that people are really invested in this relationship, I'm really excited for them to see how this relationship plays out.
