Selling the citys Taylor Middleton admitted on screen that she was not sure she would stay married to her husband Peter Skavo “But are they still together?”
During an exclusive interview with Us WeeklyTaylor confirmed that she and Peter are still together and trying to expand their family according to the weather many relationship issues are on screen, including fertility struggles.
“It's a long process. It's quite complicated and it's a journey. We're still moving forward in that process,” Taylor noted. “There's just a few surgeries and procedures that have to happen before (IVF), so I'd love to be able to expedite it. But I'm with the best doctors and we're lucky to have the best resources here in town.
Taylor admitted it was 'hard to watch at times' her scenes with Peter, which involved a couple discussing the possibility of having children.
“(But) being so vulnerable and open, I don't know how to be anything but myself,” she added. “And at the end of the day, you see the moment. But a relationship and a marriage (is) life. It imitates life. You have good days and you have bad days.”
Despite showing the tumultuous side of her marriage, Taylor says she has remained faithful to Peter, adding: “It's about finding someone you really want to go into the trenches with. I'm really lucky to have that in my marriage, but so do my boss and my teammates.
Selling the citywhich premiered on Friday, January 3, introduced We to the latest reality show from Sunset for sale the creator Adam DiVello. The series follows Eleanor Srugo's real estate group Douglas Elliman, which includes Taylor, Jade Chan, Abigail Godfrey, Jordyn Taylor Braff, Gisele Meneses Nunez and Justin Tuinstra. The former Million dollar listing in New Yorks Steve Goldwho currently works for The Corcoran Group, also performs in various ways throughout the season.
When she wasn't concentrating sale of high-end real estateTaylor experienced difficulties in her marriage to Peter.
“Everything is coming at once, which is good. It is a blessing and I am very grateful for it. But trying to manage it all is a lot. And then if you can't have a great time alone with your partner, it can suffer,” Taylor told Eleanor on the show. “There's a lot of stress in real estate and I'm on my phone a lot. I know it really bothers him and I understand because I would feel the exact same way.
Taylor noted that she trust in her work told her husband to “take a back seat”, saying: “You can have everything, but not everything at once… We've been together for ten years, but so much has changed in those 10 years. The relationship is really, really hard. And I'm sober and recovering and it wasn't a part of my life when we met and it is now.
Eleanor then asked Taylor how many years of her ten-year marriage were “really” good. “I don't know how to quantify it,” Taylor replied. “Four was really good and six was really hard.”
Later in the season, Selling the city offered We a front row seat to Taylor and Peter's awkward date, which ended with the two of them talking instead of paying attention to each other. In another scene, Taylor tried to strike up a conversation about researching IVF again.
“It's expensive and time-consuming. I am also the breadwinner in the family,” she told the cameras. “The last time we went through this process, it failed.”
Although Taylor seemed determined to have children with Peter, he argued that she would lose her “professional momentum” if she decided to become a mum. He told Taylor on screen that he couldn't understand what she would be like able to balance his career and claims arising from parenthood. (Elsewhere on the show, Eleanor confronted Taylor after finding out she had taken over the loan due to money problems.)
“It's a very weighty thing to try to process when I know that (having children) doesn't fix the marriage at all. I'm not naive to it,” Taylor said in the confessional. “I've heard that children bring out the best in your marriage and the absolute worst in your marriage. I process it all.
An off-screen producer then asked Taylor if she saw “a world where” she would “stay together” with Peter, to which she replied, “I don't know.”
