Andrew Garfield discovers his “guilty pleasure” is too hot to bear

Andrew Garfield to be a Netflix closet fan Too hot to handle makes us feel less guilty about binge-watching every season.

“My guilty pleasure is Too hot to handle Netflix,” Garfield, 41, said in his Friday, Jan. 3 profile W magazine. “F— that's really good. Sorry, this is like my pitch to people who haven't seen Too hot to handle.“

He continued, “So, they get on the island and they go, 'Woo!' then it is revealed to them that they actually work Too hot to handle. “

Garfield continues to explain that there is “prize money” the contestants were described by the host Desiree Birch as sex-crazed singles with no interest in securing anything remotely resembling a long-term relationship— only win if (they) don't love each other.

Garfield explained, putting on his best robotic Lana voice. “Suddenly it seems like all these really horny (and possibly sex-addicted) people have to do don't do anything sexual unless they have been given permission by Alana.

According to Garfield, it becomes an “amazing thing” as each couple begins to open up.

“It's beautiful,” he thought. “And you see these people start to open up their traumas and start to discover that they haven't trusted men in their family life or because of trauma in past relationships. Guys who have just said that they can't access their heart because of hurt (they've felt), and suddenly they become soft and vulnerable, and of course they are afraid to do it.”

Garfield added, “Then, of course, everyone around is very encouraging, and it becomes a very beautiful thing.”

Netflix has aired six seasons of the dating show since its debut in April 2020. Some of the couples who have been on the show are still together, including Season 2 Emily Miller and Cam HolmesWHO welcomed son Reggie in 2024.

Bri Balram and Demari Davisin turn, won season 6, which aired in August 2024.

“We haven't actually been paid yet,” Balram, 26, told Us Weekly exclusively at that time. “They didn't want us to go, like run away and spend money, so we haven't gotten paid yet.”

It's not known if Balram and Davis, 27, have received their prize money yet, but they are still a couple.
