Plaza, 40, was announced as one of more than 40 presenters at the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards on Thursday, January 2. The show will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
One day after Plaza was announced as the leader, her husband Jeff Brothers was found dead at his Los Angeles residence on Friday, January 3rd. Us Weekly later confirmed by an indie screenwriter died by suicide. He was 47.
At the time of writing, Plaza is still on the Golden Globes host list. We reached out to Plaza representatives for comment on her visit, but did not hear back.
Plaza has yet to publicly address her husband's passing. The couple, who kept their relationship mostly private, started dating in 2011 and were together for almost a decade. before binding in 2020.

Although Baena and Plaza had their solo careers, they had several opportunities to work together on many projects such as Life after Beta, Small hours and Turn me around.
“My first film was a big learning experience in all areas and so working with him was a benefit because we have an abbreviation and a close relationship,” Baena said of his wife in an August 2022 interview with Newsweek.
“As I've created more and more things, I've come to appreciate everything she brings,” the late director continued. “She's insanely talented and so smart and obviously very good at producing. And she writes. There are very few people who can wear as many hats as she does, as elegantly as she does.
At the time, Baena further impressed his wife, saying, “Everything she does is amazing,” adding, “Normally, people point out that in any project, she's his best part.”
He concluded: “She's insanely talented and I'm so lucky to have her in my life.”
