Ted Danson receives the Carol Burnett Award

Everyone certainly knows that Ted Dansonthe name of Golden Globes 2025.

THE Cheers The alumnus was overflowing with gratitude as he accepted the Carol Burnett Award at the inaugural Gold Gala on January 3. at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

“I have to admit that I've always had a confusing relationship with awards,” the 77-year-old told the audience, as seen in pictures of the event obtained by Gold Derby. “If I win, I feel a little embarrassed and alone. Ted—who received the prize from the hands of his wife of almost 20 years Marie Steenburgen—then turned towards the namesake of the award Carole Burnett and added, “I am so thrilled to receive this award, Carol. I can't tell you how much this means to me. You have brought so much joy and happiness to homes around the world. You radiate kindness. I love you such.”

For its part, the Carol Burnett Show the elder returned the feeling, shouting from the crowd, “I love you.”

Continuing his speech, Ted reflected on his career saying: “As Sam Malone said, I'm seriously the luckiest son of a bitch I've ever met, and Carol, you know, the wonderful thing about this award is that every year we're brought together To celebrate laughter and joy, we will celebrate you, Carol, and we will celebrate all the funny men and women who have come before us.
