Naomi Osaka Confirms Cordae's Breakup After Welcoming Baby

Naomi Osaka takes the time to talk about the status of his relationship.

The tennis pro announced her breakup with the rapper Hearts-with whom she shares a 17-month-old daughter Shai– on social media following rumors that the couple had separated.

“Hey everyone, I just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer a couple,” Naomi wrote in an Instagram Stories post on January 6. “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and a great father.”

Despite the split, the four-time Grand Slam singles champion spoke fondly about their relationship and how it led her to motherhood.

“Honestly, I'm really happy that our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing,” she continued, “and I've been able to grow a lot through our experiences together.”

A day before sharing the news, the 27-year-old posted a cryptic message about lessons learned.

“I have come to the conclusion that what is meant for me is meant for me and that perhaps certain situations occur to train my mind for what is to come,” she wrote in a slide on a website.
