The Scarlet God says, “Nothing is impossible” for Wendy Williams

Speaking to his co-stars Jess Hilarious and DJ Envy on Tuesday morning, Charlamagne claimed he and Williams reached out over the phone during the holiday break.

“She was… (she) seemed perfectly fine to me,” he said, adding: “Wendy (sounds) like she could be on the radio tomorrow if she wanted to.”

Charlamagne's comments echo what most have seen of Williams lately, with the former talk show host keeping a low profile and attending her son's graduation in December.

According to Charlamagne, Williams was just as well in control of her mental state during the phone call.

She was mentally sharp as she chatted with Charlamagne: 'She sounds like Wendy Williams'

To reinforce his conviction, Charlemagne gleefully recounted how Williams had questioned why he didn't seem excited to hear from his old friend.

“She asked me, 'Why are you answering the phone like we just talked yesterday (or) last week?'” She wanted me to be more excited (that she called me),'' he admitted with a laugh.

When asked what Williams' energy seemed to be, Charlamagne responded succinctly: “She sounds like Wendy Williams!”

He then noted how his phone accidentally slipped into recording mode while he was washing his hands, which Williams immediately picked up and just as quickly dismissed.

“No, you wouldn't,” insisted Charlemagne as Wendy.

“She's perfectly normal,” he assured her.

Charlamagne's comments contradict what Williams' guardian Sabrina E. Morrissey reportedly said in a November legal filing in her lawsuit against A&E Networks, Lifetime Entertainment and several affiliates related to the four-part documentary “Where's Wendy Williams?”

In the report from PEOPLEWilliams was considered “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incapacitated” as she continued to struggle with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. As such, Williams was supposedly in no condition to film, but Lifetime did anyway.

“(Where's Wendy Williams?) was filmed without a valid contract and released without the Guardian's consent,” Morrissey said in a statement, while adding that Williams was “clearly incapable of consenting (to being) filmed, much less humiliated and exploited”.

A&E has hit back at Morrissey, saying no one from Williams' team, including Morrissey herself, requested a halt to filming.

Wendy Williams attended her son's graduation ceremony and appeared 'observant'

Adding to the disbelief of Morrissey's claims is footage of Williams appearing to be fully alert at a recent public event in Florida.

Per An explosionWilliams was spotted at Florida International University in December, attending her son Kevin Hunter Jr.'s commencement ceremony. Sitting on a red mobility scooter, Williams took in her son's big moment as her father, Thomas Williams Sr., and sister, Wanda Finney, sat nearby.

That same evening, a fiery Williams was filmed demanding to know why her carers left him unattended in the middle of the street.

“They want to work for me, (then) that's what they (should) do,” Williams told the operator. “Get y-dd-mn's car!”

A few days before Hunter's ceremony, Williams was seen in a more positive mood as she waited in her car for a seafood order.

Wendy Williams' son is still fighting to bring his mom home

Commenting on an Instagram post about his graduation ceremony, Williams' only son, Hunter, updated fans of the radio legend about trying to keep his mother in Florida, where he currently lives.

“While I'm here, a quick update on my mom. She is sober and wants to come home,” Hunter shared. “We're fighting to make it happen,” he continued, “because the isolation is killing him faster than anything else.”

Hunter has been by his mother's side for months, including a stop at a holistic store in New Jersey last year.
