Details on the alleged conduct of a Virginia NICU nurse accused of breaking babies' bones

According to Carter, seven babies suffered broken bones within a year at Doctors Hospital in Henrico. It is reported that this model began to be noticed in 2023. At that time Dominic Hackeythe father of twin boys, who was hospitalized at the facility, came after noticing one of his infants with an “unexplained tibia fracture.”

Per Hecki, a week after his twins were born, his wife was told she couldn't hold their twin sons, Noah. Despite this instruction, Hackey and his wife did not notice anything unusual. Eventually, the couple assumed that the hospital's instructions had something to do with their twins being born prematurely.

The couple were then informed that Noah had been x-rayed. The results determined that he had a broken tibia.

Henrico police then launched an investigation into Noah's injury. Per Hackney, the department eventually closed the case despite the allegation that their son appeared to have been a victim of child abuse.

Months later, the CPS argued that Noah's case showed that “serious” harm had been done or intended to harm the infant. Despite this, authorities were unable to identify the culprit until Erin Strootman was taken into custody in December.
