Milo Ventimiglia and his pregnant wife Jarah Mariano lose their home in a fire

Milo Ventimiglia shares his unfathomable loss.

THE It's us star – whose wife, Looting of Marianois pregnant with the couple's first baby – confirmed he was among those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires as he returned home to find it destroyed by the fire.

“Oh man,” he said CBS News Jan. 9 as he headed to what was left of his property in Malibu. “Toast.”

The 47-year-old called the sight of the Palisades Fire's destruction “heavy” while holding back tears.

“You start thinking about all the memories and the different parts of the house and so on,” he continued, “and then you see your neighbors' houses and everything around and your heart breaks.”

Milo – who revealed he and his wife had prepared a nursery for their unborn child before the fire – said he saw the flames engulf his home on security cameras before resigning himself to the reality of the situation .
