Olympian Bruno Lobo Saves Drowning Woman in Thrilling Video

Bruno Lobo uses his heroic act as a public service announcement.

The Olympian, who placed seventh in men's kite flying for the Brazilian team at the Paris 2024 Olympics, saved a young woman from drowning on January 10 while testing camera equipment for his sport, capturing the terrifying moment on film and sharing it as a warning to his followers.

“The day God used me as an instrument to save this young woman, all honor and glory goes to Him,” Lobo wrote, translated from Portuguese, in a January 12 statement. Instagram post. “Be alert to the danger of the sea, rivers and places you do not know because the current in some places is usually very strong!”

The 31-year-old explained that around 5:40 p.m. he decided to go out to test his new camera equipment even though the weather conditions “weren't the best.” Shortly after setting sail, he heard the unidentified young woman calling for help.
