Beyoncé's BeyGood Foundation is helping families recover from the devastating California wildfires.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, January 12, the BeyGood Foundation announced a significant commitment to the LA Fire Relief Fund, which aims to help residents affected by one of the most destructive wildfires in California history . Their donation is intended for residents of Altadena and Pasadena who lost their homes, as well as their churches and community centers.
“Los Angeles, we stand with you. 📶🠽,” the announcement began on Instagram. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a $2.5 million donation. The fund is intended to help families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, as well as churches and community centers to meet the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.
The caption concluded: “To show your support for the affected families and to learn more about BeyGOOD’s mission, please visit https://beygood.org.”
The Beyoncé Foundation's generous donation comes as many of her fellow musicians and other industry faces have spoken out about losing their homes in the fires. Those affected include Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, Jhené Aiko, Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, Diane Warren, Miley Cyrus, and more.
Tina Knowles posted a video of the serene waters outside her Malibu home a few days ago, adding a lengthy caption revealing that her home was lost in the fires.
“This is what I was watching on my birthday last weekend from my tiny overwater bungalow in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now here we go!! began his legend. “God bless all the brave men and women of our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions. We thank you for your dedication and courage and for saving so many lives. It could have been much worse without the dedication of emergency workers and first responders. I am so sad for the people who lost all five of their family members. My deepest prayers are with you!!!!!!”
She continued: “To the people who have lost their homes and possessions, I can only imagine what it feels like to lose properties and everything you have worked so hard and sacrificed so much for! My heart and deep prayers go out to you all. I cannot imagine the pain, suffering and fear you are going through. I pray diligently for our beautiful city of Los Angeles!!
