We are a week away from Donald Trump's second inauguration.
The former and future president will make history by becoming only the second person in U.S. history to serve two non-consecutive terms in the White House.
We probably don't need to tell you that the United States is going through controversial times or that Trump remains a very controversial figure. But whatever your feelings ahead of January 20, we can at least all agree that the entertainment will be top-notch.
Carrie Underwood to sing 'America the Beautiful' at Trump inauguration
Yes, she may be married to a Canadian hockey player, but in every other way, Carrie Underwood is as American as it gets.
And it was revealed today that the Muskogee, Oklahoma, native will sing at least one patriotic tune on the day of Trump's swearing-in.
According to a new report from Page sixCarrie will sing “America the Beautiful” with the accompaniment of the Armed Forces Choir and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.
Trump's team has yet to make an official announcement regarding the day's entertainment.
But journalist Matthew Foldi tweeted a leaked copy of the program, which shows Carrie performing just before Trump and future Vice President JD Vance are sworn in.
Obviously, it's a big day for these two, but it could also be the highlight of Carrie's long and illustrious career.
She has of course experienced many peaks throughout her journey: winning American idolselected to sing the Sunday Night Football theme song, becoming the most awarded country music artist of all time.
A historic event
But singing at a presidential inauguration is the kind of thing that secures an artist a place in the history books.
Hell, it's been over a decade, but people are still talking about Beyonce's rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at President Obama's second inauguration.
Will Carrie's performance prove just as enduring? Only time will tell.
Either way, tens of millions of people will watch it live next Monday.
