French woman says she lost thousands of dollars after being caught by someone posing as Brad Pitt.
The 53-year-old man, who identified himself as Anne— recently appeared on a French news show Seven to eight to share her story, claiming she lost almost all of her savings after being tricked into believing she was romantically involved with the Oscar winner.
Anne said she was contacted in February 2023 by someone claiming to be Brad's mother. Jane Etta Hillhousewho told him: “It's a woman like you that my son needs”, according to The times.
Although Anne was initially skeptical, she said they continued their correspondence until someone claiming to be Brad messaged her: “My mom has told me a lot about you.”
“At first, I told myself that it was false, that it was ridiculous,” Anne said, according to the French news channel. BFMTV. “But I’m not used to social media and I didn’t really understand what was happening to me.”
