Olivia Davis insists she's not racist after Megan Thee Stallion's accident

Influencer Olivia Davis is responding to claims that she is racist after mispronouncing Megan Thee Stallion's name during a recent podcast.

Following the news that Megan was dating NBA star Torrey Craig, the show's hostse 3 Girls 1 Kitchen the podcast was filmed to discuss current events. One of the show's hosts, Olivia, reportedly dated the Chicago Bulls player in the past, having difficulty pronouncing Megan's name while discussing his new relationship.

“Where should I start? » Davis said before discussing the rumors. “Do I start with the one where my ex is dating the stud Magan Thee?” Mag you stallion? What's his name?”

Aside from Olivia not knowing how to pronounce “Megan,” things changed when her co-host, Lana Rhoades, asked if Meg was Craig's guy.

“I just wonder what his type is. Because you dated, so he was talking to other girls when he was talking to you, and they all look like you,” she said, seemingly implying that Craig had a preference for white women.

Davis agreed, saying all of Torrey's exes “look a lot alike.”

Davis faced a lot of backlash when that November clip resurfaced, with fans calling her racist for her comments. Following the fallout, TMZ I met Olivia in Los Angeles, where she insisted that her mispronunciation of Megan's name was due to nervousness and sometimes confusing her vowels.

“I have never been called racist in my entire life,” she began, implying that she had not reacted to the drama caused by the fires in Los Angeles. “So it’s like a bit of a shock to me. I've been silent right now, just because of the disaster that's happening. I just think it's a little insensitive of people to attack. I obviously understand if they are offended and I deeply apologize.

Davis went on to insist that she knows who Megan is and that her mispronunciation was not malicious but a nervous mistake.

“I know his name, obviously. It was just a stupid, stupid blonde moment in the moment during our podcast,” she said. “And I sometimes have trouble pronouncing vowels. And I'm not going to play the victim or use that as an excuse because I'm foreign. I didn't even speak English when I arrived here.

She concluded by calling the incident an “honest mistake” and said she was a fan of the rapper's music. She also clarified that she wasn't surprised that he was dating Megan because she's black, but because she's a big star.
