Renée Zellweger looks almost unrecognizable. And elegant.
Over the years, Zellweger has denied plastic surgery rumors and endured cruel treatment and frankly weird amount of body shame.
It's such a relief to see that the latest discussion about her appearance has a very different vibe.
Make no mistake: the actress is very different. But Zellweger's new vibe has people doing double takes for a whole new reason.
Beautiful hair, Renée Zellweger!
To adorn the cover of British VogueRenée Zellweger sports a whole new look.
As you can see below, she sports a pixie cut that gives off David Bowie vibes. The late singer, as her stylist confirmed for the February issue, was a deliberate source of inspiration.
The stylist of course detailed the styling technique for Renée Zellweger's new hairstyle. And it's important to do it carefully, because a short hairstyle can have a lasting impact on someone's image. (Looks awesome!)
But what's so striking is that it helped redefine Zellweger's look.
She is a very famous actress and has been known for decades.
Getting people to do a double take or even just not recognize it with a new haircut is impressive. Especially when she's this beautiful.
What's behind this 6-year acting hiatus?
From 2010 to 2016, Renée Zellweger took a break from her acting career. It wasn't just something she could afford to do because of her success, but something she had to do for her own well-being.
“I was fed up with the sound of my own voice,” she told British Vogue.
“When I was working, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, listen to yourself. Are you still sad, Renee? Oh, is that your crazy voice? It was a regurgitation of the same emotional experiences.
Zellweger explained that she didn't sit around “doing nothing” during those six years.
(Just a reminder that it's always okay to take time for yourself when you can; your work has value, but to work has no moral weight in itself)
“I wrote music and studied international law,” she volunteered. The actress continued, “I built a house, rescued two older doggies, created a partnership that led to a production company, advocated for and raised money with a sick friend, and spent lots of time with my family and my godchildren and driving across the country with the dogs.
What is she doing these days?
As fans may recall, Renee Zellweger re-entered the acting world in 2016 to Bridget Jones' baby. The fourth film in the series will be released in a few weeks.
Brigitte Jones; Crazy for the boy hits theaters on February 14.
Unless she uses wigs or extensions, she will make a dazzling impression with her new look. But one or two interviewers on the red carpet might have trouble recognizing her.
