According to Fox 35 Orlandothe incident between Fleury and Monroe happened on Wednesday, Jan. 15, around 8 a.m. According to the outlet, the 83-year-old man had come to Buddy's Food and Lotto to collect a $200 lottery prize.

Surveillance footage then captured Monroe walking out of the store and toward her car. Around the same time, a man in an orange jacket can be seen walking towards the store. At that point, Monroe is seen trying to open her car door. However, a man approaches her and appears to be trying to grab items from her hands.

From there, another man is seen running out of the store, apparently trying to defend the 83-year-old. However, as the woman tries to get into her car, the suspect runs toward her. After all, he has seen her aggressively pulled from the car and dragged to the ground.

At that moment, the man disappears from sight.

Authorities immediately identified the suspect as Fleury, according to the outlet. In addition, they issued a warrant for his arrest, charging him with “Robbery, Abduction and Battery on a Person 65 Years of Age or Older.”

Then on Thursday, January 16, police announced that Fleury had been arrested via Xformerly known as Twitter. Fleury is reportedly behind bars, according to a tweet from the department.

According to WESHon Thursday, Monroe also returned to the store. She reportedly reflected on the incident while speaking to the outlet.

“I'm 83 years old, I've never been hit. But that look on his face, he was ready, you know, and then he took it out of my hand and walked away,” she explained.
