Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone are “ambassadors”

Trump nominated Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight to a dubious honor.

Carrie Underwood isn't the only famous person with abhorrent judgment. This is extremely common.

Despite the recent devastating fires in Los Angeles, Trump is still targeting Hollywood.

He named the three excluded actors as “special ambassadors” of the entertainment industry. What does this mean?

Trump announces Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone as 'special ambassadors'

On Thursday, January 16, Donald Trump took advantage of his microblogging platform with the ironic name Truth Social to share some news.

“It is my honor to announce that Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone will be special ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” the notorious criminal announced.

Trump then said: “They will serve as my special envoys in an effort to bring Hollywood, which has lost a lot of business over the last four years to foreign countries, BACK – BIGGER, BETTER AND STRONGER THAN NEVER BEFORE! »

“These three very talented people,” Trump said, “will be my eyes and ears.”

He then threatened: “And I will do what they suggest.” » It's vague but sinister!

“It will once again, like the United States of America itself, be the golden age of Hollywood!” » Trump rambled.

Why did Trump choose Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight?

These aren't three actors that come to mind for most people. Almost never.

However, as much as we hate to speculate about what is currently happening in Donald Trump's thought process, it is likely that he considers these men his allies.

From Voight's notorious politics to Stallone calling him the “second George Washington” to Gibson's famous bigoted scandals, they seem relatively like-minded as Trump.

Although Donald Trump clearly craves the admiration and friendship of the most famous and beautiful people in the entertainment industry, he will never have it. And it is possible that he realized it.

Deep down, Trump is a man who wants to be loved. If the people whose attention he covets despise him for his behavior, his politics, and his crimes, then he will get approval where he can get it. That meant actors many people had forgotten about were still alive, and it meant crowds of people Trump would have preferred to avoid under other circumstances.

As for why Trump didn't choose someone like Zachary Levi, his supporter? We don't know if he knows who he is off the top of his head. Trump was born in the 1940s. He would probably feel more comfortable talking to geriatric actors who feel oppressed in some way by their own industry.

What does “Special Ambassador” mean?

It is not clear what a “special ambassador” might mean in this context. “Hollywood” is just one part of Los Angeles, associated with the entertainment industry. It's not a foreign government. No political embassy is involved.

However, Trump has threatened his critics, from television networks to late-night hosts. He intends to use the full political power of the White House to silence his perceived enemies and “punish” those whose words have hurt his feelings. Maybe it's more or less the same thing.

This is just a small part of America's dark fate in the years to come. The good news is that it's unclear what actors like Jon Voight, Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson could do — even with Trump's support.
