Lil' Kim goes back and forth with fans over 'monsoon' prayer

Facing backlash for her comments about the Los Angeles fires, the rapper Lil' Kim replied, explaining herself, though she wondered what all the fuss was about.

Earlier in the week, Lil' Kim prayed for a monsoon in Los Angeles during a raging thunderstorm that rattled the city, but some confused fans are calling her out.

however famous female rapper undertook to educate his critics about monsoons, even sharing a definition of the term.

On Tuesday, Lil' Kim shared her concerns about the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles.

Turning to X, she posted a message that to read“Sending up strong prayers for Los Angeles and everyone affected by the fires. It's heartbreaking. I'm asking Jesus to make it a monsoon in Los Angeles.”

While some fans responded positively to Lil' Kim's prayers, many others were confused and wondered why she would want another natural disaster to hit Los Angeles during the wildfires.

Some disgruntled fans called out Lil' Kim, claiming that Monsoon was misusing her.

One fan wrote: “Maybe not the best answer…” Another X user added: “Is it a monsoon? A disaster on top of an existing disaster? No ma'am.”

A third person shared a gif of the two ladies trying so hard not to laugh, alongside the caption: “Ending one natural disaster with another is crazy.”

Meanwhile, another person wrote: “California is going through one of the worst droughts ever recorded in American history and you'd think they were in for a monsoon.”

A fifth X user asked, “Girl, do you even know what monsoon means?”

As the backlash against her continued, Lil' Kim returned to X and addressed the negative comments that led her to intercede for LA.

She posted“What's going on is devastating, and what Los Angeles really needs right now is rain — what's the problem? Doesn't everyone understand that a monsoon is heavy rain?”

The 50-year-old rapper went on to express his joy that people are “positive” despite the tragedy that struck California.

She wrote: “So happy to see everyone being so positive in such a tragic situation. Let's keep praying and supporting everyone affected.”

Despite Lil' Kim's attempts to explain herself, she received more criticism from some fans who informed her about the adverse effects of the monsoons.

One such fan wrote: “We know what you're thinking, but heavy rain would cause mudslides, floods, strong winds or more damage.”

Another person added that there would be no point in a monsoon as people would have nowhere to go. They also urged the “Lighters Up” crooner to “delete this post.”

A third, seemingly giving Lil' Kim the benefit of the doubt, wrote: “Sister, we knew you knew. You had pure intentions! Monsoon isn't the answer though.”

Another person attached asked the rapper to “do some research” because the monsoon will worsen the already dire situation.

Meanwhile, a fifth fan introduced a bit of history to explain to Lil' Kim why Monsoon wasn't the best idea. They shared a video showing cars covered in debris and mudslides due to heavy rains.

They wrote in the caption: “Regards Mrs. Lila. Last time we had heavy rain right where the fire happened. Mind you now if the fire has more debris in the streets it would make it even more of a disaster. would mention dirt released by fire so yeah.. no thanks.”

Despite the education she received from her fans, Lil' Kim maintained her stance that L.A. needs a Monsoon.

She shared a screenshot from the web showing the definition of monsoon. It read: “A monsoon is a seasonal change in wind direction that can cause extremely wet or dry weather.”

It continued: “Monsoons are often associated with tropical regions, but can also occur in other parts of the world, including North America.”

She also shared a screenshot on her Instagram Stories that showed comments from fans who seemed to understand her and wondered why people were trolling her.
