Meagan Good spoke to “God” during Jonathan Majors' assault trial

The lovebirds faced public scrutiny after Major was found guilty of assault, but Good didn't let negative opinions affect her love for her beau.

Good and Major announced their engagement in style while walking the red carpet at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles in November 2024.

Okay and her “Harlem” cast mates were guests on “The Breakfast Club” on Friday to promote the third and final season of the Amazon Prime Video series.

During the show, co-host Jess Hilarious asked Goode if standing by Majors during his trial was “a lot” to deal with, especially with the public scrutiny and bad press.

In her response, Good explained that her faith in God helped her navigate the difficult situation.

She said, “I was literally talking to God… and I knew exactly where I needed to be. I've learned along the way that not only are things not always going to make sense to me, but sometimes they will.” other people don't make sense.”

The actress continued, “It's good as long as you're in tune with God and trusting, you know, the path that you're on… and the more I do that, the happier I am. I've been.”

Her relationships and state of happiness were also well affected. She said: “I don't know when I've been this happy before. I think I might have been a child.”

How Good and Major' relationship progressed, rumors surfaced that it was a publicity stunt. However, Goode's co-star Jerry Johnson shot down the speculation.

Johnson revealed that she lived with Goode during the early stages of her and Majors' relationship and recalled how the “Day Shift” actress felt about her beau.

Johnson shared, “I remember Meagan coming back to the house and saying, 'I think I love this man.' That was before it all happened, if they think Meaghan doesn't need that kind of attention — she's been doing it for 30 years.

Prior to her relationship with Major, Goode was married to Columbia Pictures executive Devon Franklin. They became friends in June 2012, but announced their separation in 2021, and finalized their divorce in June 2022.

The co-hosts of “The Breakfast Club” asked Good if her divorce from Franklin made her want to get married again.

She replied: “I'm a very optimistic person… I really trust God, even if… I don't understand… being, and God will take care of everything.”

Good admitted that at times she questioned God, but expressed gratitude for the divorce experience.

She shared, “Now, sitting here today, I'm grateful for every part of the experience. I'm grateful for every part of the journey, every thing that I've been through, whether it was me, the person, everything on the journey is made me better, made me stronger.”

During her appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” co-host Charlamagne Tha God asked Goode if Major wooed her by asking her to be his “Coretta,” referring to the actor previously saying she kept him as Coretta (Scott). -King) during his trial.

Okay answered to Charlemagne's question, proudly saying, “Ummmm…he didn't say that. But I'm his Corette after all.”

She revealed that she and Major had planned to dress up as Coretta and Martin Luther King for Halloween, but decided against it due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

However, she suggested they might revisit the idea next year.

Goode's recent interview comes two months after she and Major announced their engagement at the Ebony Power Gala in Los Angeles.

The couple, whose romance was confirmed in May 2023, told the world they had taken a major step in their relationship when they walked the red carpet at the event.

Good boldly announced that she and Major were in love before calling him “the one.”
