Damson Idris Clears the Air on Alleged 'Black Panther' Snub

Damson Idris is setting the record straight on whether or not he turned down the lead role in the upcoming film. Black Panther movie.

The Internet was furious with speculation about which actor might be cast to fill the Marvel suit left behind by the late, great Chadwick Boseman and fans were saddened to learn that Idris might have passed on the role. THE Snowfall The actor spoke to X to let it be known that the rumors were false…somehow.

In response to a tweet saying he would have been “perfect” for the role, he sarcastically responded that he turned down Black Panther, the iconic role of 007, a co-lead film with Daniel Day-Lewis and a biopic about Eddie Murphy.

“Yes sir. I turned down 007, a co-lead film with Daniel Day-Lewis and an Eddie Murphy biopic too,” Damson tweeted, confusing some people who thought he was serious.

Idris' name is thrown into the ring for many dream castings. However, he doesn't appear to have any very confirmed work on the horizon outside of the upcoming F1 film starring Academy Award winners Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem.

Snowfall fans have been waiting with bated breath to see what lead role his next could be, but it doesn't look like it's Ryan Coogler's beloved superhero…yet.

For those who invest in the future of Black Pantherother names on the wishlist to possibly replace Boseman include Daniel Kaluuya and John Boyega. Film legend Denzel Washington also revealed his involvement in the third installment of the series, although it is unclear what role he will play.

Although Marvel Studios president Kevin Fiege has confirmed the upcoming Black Panther The film will make its way to theaters, the future of the franchise remains a mystery. There have also been rumors that the new actor playing the role will be revealed in a film. Before the third Black Panther the movie is over. This is sure to cause an uproar among fans. Either way, we'll be seated.
