Like the threatening darkness TikTok As Saturday got closer and closer, many of the brands that have found a place on the app decided to openly reveal secrets and share humor to lighten the mood.
Brands like Wendy, Sour Patch Kids, Scrub dad, oreos, and DuolingoTikTok saw the final hours as an opportunity to leave a lasting impression on its followers.
Although we now know that TikTok is back up and running, it was a long 14 hours for many, so let's take a look at some of the brands' humorous goodbye videos to reminisce about a time that felt very much like the hours before January. 1, 2000 (if you're old enough to remember that feeling of confusion and impending doom).

Duolingo days were fun until TikTok went dark
Duolingo no stranger to entertainment in their marketing. They have shared many videos that have left a lasting impression on the viewers. So of course the end of TikTok would mean that they would just up their game and spread joy and truths.
In one of their latest videos, using the sound of “Family Guy” “Griffins4U”, they clearly revealed one of their secrets.
In a viral video that has over 10 million views, they reveal who is in the owl costume.
“Since we're all going to die, there's one more secret I think I need to share with you,” the voice says as Duolingo's iconic owl enters the frame. The costume comes off to reveal, “Mark was in the Duo mascot suit the whole time.”

One viewer called it out saying, “Imagine if TikTok doesn't get banned and we now know everyone's secret.” Minutes ago, Duolingo commented on TikTok's return: “It's inconvenient.”
Before the app went dark, Duolingo shared some videos about learning Mandarin and switching to RedNote.

“I'll Be Sweet This Time”
Sour Patch Kids TikTok decided to be “cute this time” in the last few hours with a short but “sweet” video of a blue Sour Patch Kid getting out of an elevator with the caption “I'm on my way to buy Tiktok so it doesn't happen tomorrow I don't get banned.”
More goodbyes were shared in the comments section, and many were shared in a humorous way. Ollie's Bargain Outlet commented, “When TikTok is gone, I hope you achieve all your dreams and goals in life. It was an honor to share this app and the good times with you. Good luck,” to which Sour Patch Kids replied, “I I don't even know who you are.”
Another viewer spoke about what's going on between Sour Patch Kids and Oreo, saying, “Oreo has been real quiet since it was discontinued.” Sour Patch Kids replied, “Exactly.”

One person said, “Why does my search feature say, 'What did Oreo do to make kids sour?'” Why am I only finding out about this now that TikTok is gone in a few hours,” and Sour Patch Kids replied, “They know what they did .”
Shortly after TikTok returned to the US this morning, Sour Patch Kids shared a video with the caption: “TikTok really said sour, sweet, gone, SIKE.”
Charmin commented, “YESSSS MY BEST FRIEND IS BACK ON TOO,” and Hot Pockets added, “Oh, it's on.” Many other comments encouraged the page to fight Oreo.

Oreos shared a teaser video announcing the new flavors on Saturday. They didn't actually make it, but many took to the comments to chat about the Sour Patch Kids beef.

And while some viewers shared their thoughts on the new cookie flavors, many others wanted the Oreo vs. Sour Patch Kids battle to go strong.

Scrub dadthe popular sponge brand bid a fond farewell to TikTok. A few days before TikTok went dark, they shared a video with the caption, “It's not goodbye. See you somewhere else,” in which they summed up some of the good times and benefits of using the app. Of course, there were also many laughs.
The video includes their collaboration with Duolingo, the CEO, many scenes with a gigantic yellow Scrub Daddy, and a big thank you to their over 4 million followers.
Other video they had a slightly different vibe. The video revealed the final truth, which left viewers with interesting comments.
“BEST FORGIVENESS PLEASE!” one person wrote. Another added: “Today's algorithm is absolutely insane and I'm here for it.” Another viewer shared, “TikTok's season finale has been WILD.”
When TikTok went live again on Sunday morning, they shared another video asking viewers to “disregard my last post”.
