Two years after her diagnosis, Halsey, who uses the pronouns he/she, shared a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, Jan. 18, reflecting on her progress and expressing gratitude for the support she's received along the way.

“Hey. I just want to say; I looked and felt like this two years ago and every step forward I've taken since then is a miracle,” Halsey wrote in the caption. “I figured it out on my own, thanks to everyone who was along for the ride, plus I'm cute now, so that's great.

Hours after the song's release, Halsey revealed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disease two years earlier. Both conditions are now under management or in remission, although Halsey admitted they are lifelong challenges.

“After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of wonderful doctors,” she shared. “Two years later, I feel better and am more grateful than ever to have music to focus on.”
