SUMMARY: 'Sister Wives' Mary Brown Uncovers Cody's Hidden Financial Fraud!
in the episode of January 19 Wife's sisters, Mary Brown exposes the inequities in how her family's finances were managed and distributed—exposing the process was not fair.
Meri on the Coyote Pass controversy
“His main thing then was that I would get two acres. two acres,” Meriexplains to her friend Jen Sullivan during the episode. She accuses her ex-husband of Cody Brownfor not planning to give her an equal share of the family's Coyote Pass property. “He says, 'Well, you don't need that much because you don't have that many kids.'
Jen reminds Meri that she equally invested in a property located in Flagstaff, Arizona, despite having only one child, Leon, with Cody.
“I don't know if they don't remember, like, when our funds were together and those family funds that I helped with went to the kids' college, went to the property.” Meri says. “It went to everything. We had a family foundation.
Jen adds that Meri's the money paid for many of the children's expenses, however Leon's needs were left out. “That money went to most of the kids' colleges, but not to Leon,” Jen says. Meri confirms, “I paid for Leon's college,” noting that she also paid for it Leona car payments independently without using the family fund.
“I really don't know how much of the family fund actually paid for other kids' school or cars,” Meri admits, “but I know that my child's school was not taken care of by the family fund.”
Unequal financial treatment
Although Meri is Kody's the longest-married partner, she says she never received her fair share of the collective finances. “Cody has actually said this: “As I have only one child, I am not entitled to an equal share of the property.” Meri claims, again citing the Coyote Pass communal land.
Despite Cody dismissing her concerns, Meri still strongly believes that she deserves compensation for her contribution. Christine Brownwho left Cody In 2021, he handed over his part of the land Cody and Robin Brown in exchange for proceeds from the sale of her home in Arizona.
“I invested a lot in this marriage emotionally, financially (and) personally,” Meri concludes. “I didn't get anything out of it, like alimony or anything. And I wasn't looking for it. So I think the property investment is fair (that I'm getting). I think it's fair that I at least give it up.
Legal action and tension over land
Elsewhere in the episode, Cody meets with realtor to list Coyote Pass without consultation Meri or Janelle Brown. Both women, determined to protect their rights, engage lawyers to ensure a fair division of the property.
Jenelle explains the complex nature of land ownership:
“Because it's named, if we were to sell it now, Meri would be compensated for an acre and a half out of all 14. This whole conversation really depends on Cody. He is the one who is in all the titles.
She also expresses doubts about Kody's intentions:
“Are you going to show up and divide them fairly? What do we do? Because he's very greedy. He says something, then you won't hear from him forever. Like, I don't know. There's no guarantee he'll be kind.
Codyin his confessional, allays their concerns by saying, “I've just got two ex-wives who were total feuds, who are still bickering now.”
Cody reacts to Christine's wedding
Later in the episode, Cody shares his feelings about not being invited Christine wedding to David Woolley. “Really, where I'm at is Christine happy and that's great,” he says, but admits to experiencing FOMO.
“Everyone will have a good time. I’m going to get kicked out of the party and I have FOMO,” he tells the cameras.
Robinpretending to support Christine new chapter — she adds sarcastically, “We're so happy for them… We just want Christine to be happy. That's what we want.”
