BTS photos of Star Wars skeleton crew reveal a cut-out female Jedi

“Skeleton Crew” felt like a breath of fresh air for “Star Wars”: An Amblin-inspired remake that gave the galaxy far, far away its first true all-ages titlean adventure where children play over their heads.

One of the show's greatest strengths is Jude Law's Jodh Na Navud, a Jedi-trained pirate scum who is as skilled with a blade and the Force as he is treacherous and only thinks of himself. in the final, we finally learn Jod's backstoryand how he was found as a young boy by a Jedi fleeing the Purge, but according to a new behind-the-scenes photo, it looks like we almost got a look at Jodh's Jedi Master.

Jodh Na Nawood is one of the best characters that Star Wars has introduced in years. He's a lot of fun to watch and great with kids, but he's also a silver-tongued pirate willing to betray and sell out anyone who cares about him if it means getting cold, hard credit. There's something tragic about this guy though, he's not a pirate masquerading as a Jedi, but is actually quite strong in the Force – his whole world view has been distorted by the tragic, cruel death of his master. You see, Jodh was training as a Jedi during the post-Order 66 purge. When he and his master were discovered by Imperial forces, they killed him before his eyes.

One thing that's interesting about Jod is that he is never redeemed during Skeleton Crew. He does some good things, sure, and his history is sad, but it never feels like an excuse or a way to erase his evil deeds. However, his sad story could have been even sadder. Actress Yasmine Al Massri took to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes pictures from a scene she was supposed to appear in in 'Skeleton Crew', where she played a Jedi, the first Arab female Jedi. While she doesn't confirm if she played the Jodh Master, the post includes some fight training videos, so it would make sense that the cut scene featured the death of the Jodh Master.

It's a shame the scene was deleted, and given the overwhelming ratings of “Skeleton Crew”. it seems unlikely that we will get more of this story. However, there's always hope that a flashback to Jodh's unnamed master's death will be shown on screen if Jodh himself returns for more adventures.
