Eduardo was subpoenaed to answer some questions in a case involving allegations of domestic violence by his former romantic partner. Court documents reveal Simin asked to appear at an upcoming hearing because both face abuse charges.

A court hearing is scheduled for later this month. Simin accused the elder Umanski of physical, verbal and emotional abuse while they dated for nearly two decades.

The court appointed Mauricio and Sharon as joint guardians of Eduardo's estate. Sharon then filed a restraining order against Simin, alleging that her father's ex-partner had been physical with her.

Sharon then filed a petition for a restraining order against Simin on behalf of Eduardo. The petition alleged that Simin had “verbally, physically and financially” abused Eduardo for many years.

Sharon said the first signs of threats and abuse appeared about 10 years ago, but it was difficult to grasp what was going on in full. Around August or September 2022, the situation started to escalate.

After Sharon made a reasonable argument in court, Eduardo eventually won a temporary restraining order against his ex-partner.

Eduardo Umanska's ex said she was afraid of the 81-year-old

Simin returned the favor by filing a petition for a “parental dependent adult abuse restraining order.” She described Eduardo as her ex-boyfriend while urging the court to order him to stay at least 100 yards away from her.

Simin added that Eduardo mistreated him on December 4, 2024. “I'm afraid of (Eduardo),” she began, adding that she had an 18-year relationship with the 81-year-old man during which she endured multiple abuses.

She claimed that Eduardo had “physically abused me several times, causing injuries”. He also allegedly hit her on the face and hands, kicked her on the legs, pushed her down and strangled her.

In her petition, Simina included photographs of her alleged injuries as evidence and stated that the events had caused me not only physical harm but also emotional distress.

Simin Tabibnia criticized Eduardo's relationship with his daughter Sharon

Simina observed in her documentation that Eduardo's mood becomes bad whenever he talks to Sharon on the phone. Simin stated that she was the primary target of his aggressions, as well as a number of abusive behaviors he had exhibited in the past.

According to her, Eduardo “has a long history of verbal abuse, often using degrading and abusive language towards me in public and in the presence of others. He has repeatedly told me to 'shut up' and made other degrading remarks.”

Simina argued in her petition that she hoped her ex-partner would grow out of his abusive ways after Sharon filed a separate restraining order against him for “elder abuse” on Eduardo's behalf in October 2024.

Like father, like son. Mauricio also had his hands full after being dragged to court by Relator LLC in late 2024. A document unsealed by the court in August 2024 showed that the company originally filed the petition in July 2023.

The filing alleged that Umansky, along with his business partner William “Billy” Rose and their real estate firm, The Agency, conspired to misappropriate loans intended for distressed businesses.

“This is a case of greed in a public health emergency,” Relator LLC's petition said. They explained that Mauricio applied for two Payroll Protection Program (PPP) and CARES Act loans during the COVID-19 pandemic through his real estate firm, The Agency.

Relator LLC emphasized that the loan programs were not designed to support or maintain profits for a company that had sufficient funds to compensate its workers.

It explained that the financial assistance initiative was actually created to save jobs for workers employed by companies that could not afford their wages.
