And just like that and Sex and the City star Christine Davis is more than familiar with the real-life roller coaster of modern dating.
On the Monday, January 20 episode of her podcast “are you charlotteDavis, 59, revealed she once loaned an “out-of-work” actor $5,000 before he rushed her.
Davis, who played Charlotte York in the hit HBO series Sex and the City before rebooting the role again in 2021, the podcast guest said Sarah Winter — who appeared SATC pilot — that the man's response to her generous gesture shocked her.
She detailed how the man was an “out-of-work actor” she had seen before starting work SATCwho is now “very successful”. Davis had loaned him “the entire $5,000” after noticing notices around his house threatening to cut off his electricity. She also found out that he had “crashed his motorcycle” so he couldn't attend the audition.
“He was very talented, but at the time I had money because I was working,” Davis explained. “It changed the dynamic terribly… but I probably should have known better. So I loaned him that money and then he stops calling. So I thought, “What the hell?”
Davis added that she encountered a man who was not helping her.
“I remember going to his apartment and banging on the door,” Davis told the podcast. “And his dog was there, and I loved his dog, and I heard his dog. But I was like, 'Is he there pretending she's not there?'
While Davis was not met at the door, she later received a phone call from a man who asked her if she had been the person who had been banging on his door.
“I was like, 'Well, yeah,'” Davis said. “I felt so confused, like I was a mess. I'd just like some recognition or something that's kind of a fantasy.
While she didn't reveal the man's identity, Davis offered some details about what he might be up to these days. “He lives in the country with some kids, so I don't think I want to show up there,” she quipped.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Davis called her decision a “terrible mistake” before urging the audience to avoid repeating her actions. “Don't do it,” Davis said. “It doesn't end well.”
Charlotte Davis has famously experienced her share of eventful dating scenarios over the course of six seasons SATCbefore it developed into two seasons AJLT.
