Ashley and Tyler connected view unseen during Love is blind Season 7, which was filmed in Washington in October 2023, premiered on Netflix a year later. Tyler proposed without seeing Ashley's face, and they were married within two months of the experiment.
“She made me feel safe. A lot of men look for security, and the moment I first met her, she made me feel extremely safe,” Tyler exclusively narrated Us Weekly in October 2024. “It was like a warm soul coming through the wall and I just knew it was my person.”

Pod love story
As Tyler walked inside Love is blind pods without expectationshe couldn't deny an instant pull towards Ashley.
“I love it when you say my name,” he gushes in the first episode. “Your voice is very attractive.”
The pair quickly bonded over horseback riding, wanting to cross “skydiving” off their bucket list, and the importance of family and religion.
“I like that you're consistent,” Ashley told the nuclear security officer. “You immediately felt warm. You didn't show up as someone else, you just showed up like, 'Hey, I'm sorry, I'm nervous. That's who I am.'”
She said Yes!
After Ashley surprised Tyler with an epic balloon on his birthday, he proposed.
“You are the most beautiful person on the inside I have ever met. You make me happy like a little kid,” Tyler said to Ashley through the wall as he got down on one knee. “I'm pulling your blanket around (living quarters). This has been the happiest time of my life. You have made me feel safe like I have never felt in my life. You are such a graceful person who also deserves love. Godly, I can't wait to pray with you. I can't wait to hold your hand (and) I can't wait to look at you.
After declaring his love, Tyler asked if Ashley would be his wife.
“I would be honored to marry you, Tyler,” replied the marketing director. “It's crazy…but so good at the same time.”
Tyler and Ashley first met in the open tunnel where she received her diamond engagement ring – the couple couldn't stop cuddling.
Real life awaits
The duo built on their emotional connection while also exploring the physical as they swapped pods for a tropical getaway in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
“I'm glad I get to meet you at this stage in my life,” Tyler quipped on the pasta-making date. “God's plan. Great time to meet me. Wow, you would have hated me, like, 'You're cute, wanna go on a date?' Just get ready, there will be people like, “He's not that nice.” You didn't give me a reason to be nice.

The revelation of the bomb
However, their relationship was tested after Tyler suddenly left with a big revelation that he had several children. According to a military veteran, he donated sperm to a friend who could not have biological children.
Ashley felt betrayed that Tyler had never told her the truth until now.
“You're running around here talking about how we're getting married, but you're also running around saying you want kids now. And it's like, 'Wow,'” Ashley said. “How did you even bring this up? I just can't fathom it, even without considering your past?
She added: “It's like, what? Three extra kids? It's wild. Like, who are these people? I just feel like I should know. But I don't have anything. You haven't shown me anything. Like: ” Here are the documents that show I'm not involved.” I need to know everything.”
Tyler also didn't ask for Ashley's “forgiveness,” but rather a chance to move on.

After reuniting on air, Tyler sent a thoughtful letter to his fiancée.
“From the moment I heard your voice, I knew there was something special about you. We took a leap of faith together and every day since has shown me how lucky I am to have you in my life,” he wrote. Tyler added: “Looking back, it's wild to think that we started our story without ever seeing each other's face – only words, feelings and faith. However, this experience taught me what really matters – your heart, your wisdom and that , how you make me feel fully seen and loved. I'm so grateful for the journey that brought us here. Ashley reshared Tyler's note on her Instagram Story before writing her own tribute.
“I just remember my wedding day being the best day ever! Not in a startup way,” Ashley wrote. “I mean, it was a balmy 68 degrees, the sun was shining on us, the decor was amazing, and everything worked flawlessly. There wasn't one person who didn't walk up to us and say, 'Man, I didn't know if this was real or on TV, but this is one of the best weddings i've been to, i feel the love! I think even now some people think it was for a game. No, honey, this is our real life, our real human hearts, our real marriage!

Ashley announced that she and Tyler called it after one year of marriage.
“After much thought, I want to share that Tyler and I have been separated for several weeks and have now made the difficult decision to end our marriage,” she said in a statement.
