Jamie Foxx recalls asking Snoop Dogg to “shake” his daughter's boyfriend

Jamie Foxx shared a humorous story about getting a job Snoop Dogg to bully her daughter Corinne's ex-boyfriend by highlighting his protective parenting style.

Despite being calm, he stresses the importance of letting his children live their own lives.

It comes after Jamie Foxx opened up about his stroke experience, recalling waking up from a coma after 20 days with no memory and difficulty walking.

During an interview on “Capital XTRA” with co-star Cameron Diaz to promote his new movie “Back In Action,” Fox shared a humorous parenting story about his daughter Corinne's previous boyfriend.

Fox revealed that while he tries to stay calm, he is very protective of his daughters, especially when it comes to dating.

“I'm a little bit … I might be laid back. But I might also be very, when it comes to my daughters and the opposite sex, I might be a little bit more, you know, in your face,” he admitted. Daily mail.

Fox then recalled the time Snoop Dogg visited his home, and he recruited the rapper to bully his daughter's then-boyfriend.

“My oldest daughter, who's married now, but when she was dating another guy, he comes over. I had already done a background check on the guy, but Snoop happened to be there by my bed,” Foxx said.

He added: “I was like, 'Snoop, there he is, right there.' Shake him! And Snoop goes with, “What's up, you know if she's hurting, you're hurting?”

Fox expressed a balance between protection and letting her children live their own lives.

He explained: “I try to be visual in that perspective, but I also understand that they have to have kids. You have to let them live their lives. And, you know, that kind of thing.”

Fox's daughter Corinne married Joe Hooten at his home in Tuxedo, California in September 2024, and despite suffering a stroke the previous year, the “Django Unchained” star proudly walked her daughter down the aisle.

When asked about her parenting style, Diaz, who has young children, said, “I mean, I have young children, so it's a whole different thing. I talk to my kids like, 'You know, it's not available.' know that you really, really want it, I understand.

“But my husband always says he's like, 'you go from zero to 100 and stuff.' So, you know. Definitely, I have to work on it,” she added.

In an upcoming episode of “The Graham Norton Show” on Friday, Fox opens up about the terrifying experience that left him in a coma following surgery in April 2023.

Reflecting on the ordeal, he shared that he had no recollection of the events leading up to his hospitalization, only realizing the severity of it when he woke up 20 days later.

“I was very sick, but now I feel good again. It makes you realize that you need people around you who care and love you to get you through it,” he said.

The actor continued: “I didn't remember anything happening, so when I turned up 20 days later, I thought I was being played. It was crazy.”

Fox previously spoke about his health scare during his stand-up show “What Had Happened Was…”.

He revealed that while filming “Back In Action” in Atlanta, he had developed severe headaches and was initially treated with a cortisone shot.

However, his sister Deirdre Dixon sensed something was wrong and knew the situation was more serious than meets the eye.

Fox shared that Dixon rushed him to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, where he underwent a critical life-saving procedure.

At the time, the family chose to withhold information about his health risks, and Foxx only revealed the full story a month ago.

The “Day Shift” actor recalled waking up from a coma on May 4 and was shocked because he couldn't walk. “When I woke up, I was in a wheelchair. I couldn't walk,” he said.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Fox refused to accept that he had suffered a stroke.

His therapist advised him, “You have to kill the old Jamie so that the new Jamie can develop.”

Reflecting on the experience, Fox said, “God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke.”

As he returned to public life, Fox knew that humor would be the key to his recovery.

“I knew I had to come back, and I realized the way to do that was to be funny,” Fox told Norton in a preview for the episode. “I told so many jokes that people thought I was mad, and then I acted like someone else — I was Denzel Washington for three whole days.”
