The tragic shooting unfolded at Antioch High School A suspect and another student were killed and another student was injured in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday, January 22nd.

Details on the Nashville Antioch High School shooting
The shooting happened in the Antioch High School cafeteria around 11:09 The police have established that the shooter is a 17-year-old man named Solomon Henderson who turned the gun on himself after the attack. He later reportedly died from his injuries CNN.
Vanderbilt University Medical Center confirmed that one female student, identified as a 16-year-old, was killed in the attack. Josselin Corea Escalanteper Tennessee. Another student is said to have suffered an abrasion to the arm, but is in stable condition. In addition CNN notes that one student suffered a facial injury, although they were reportedly not shot.
According to TennesseeSWAT was searching for additional victims after the incident. However, “none were found”.
Located in Nashville's Antioch neighborhood about 10 miles southeast of downtown, Antioch High School serves about 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12, according to its official website.
Antioch High School Responds to Tragedy
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Nashville Metro School District addressed the situation X (formerly Twitter). They confirmed the school was on lockdown during the incident, but assured everyone there was no current threat to the campus. The district also promised to share updates as it continues to investigate the situation.
“Antioch High School is on lockdown due to shots being fired inside the school building. Metro police are at the scene. The person responsible for the shooting is no longer a threat. We will gather the students in the auditorium and provide information about the reunion as soon as possible,” the school district said in a statement following the incident.
