Tom Brady provides on-the-spot analysis in the Chiefs' win over the Lions
Brady, now in his first full season as a Fox Sports broadcaster, earned praise Saturday for his sharp analysis of a key moment in the Washington Commanders' NFC divisional-round win over the Detroit Lions.
With just under 14:30 left in the game and the Commanders leading by three points, they elected to go for it on 4th and 2 at the Lions' 5-yard line. A defensive stop to the Lions could have given them plenty of time to either tie the game or take the lead.
When the commanders stopped their conversation, Brady immediately noticed a problem with the Lions' defense.
“Timeout needed, 12 on the field, timeout. Timeout! Timeout! No. No. Oh no! What are they doing?” Brady exclaimed for Fox NewsApplies
The Lions were tagged with 12 players on the field, a costly mistake that gave Washington a fresh set of downs. Two plays later, Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. scored a touchdown to extend Washington's lead to 38-28. They went on to win 45-28.

Brady's sharp observations during the game surprised viewers, and fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to applaud his insightful commentary.
One fan wrote: “I'm enjoying Brady more and more. He's often quick to pick up on things other announcers are surprised about, I feel like I'm actually learning something interesting a lot of the time.”
Another fan echoed the sentiment, saying, “He also usually notices what the offense is going to do or the coverage the defense is going to do, but he's not super obnoxious or in-your-face about, say, Tony Romo coming in. He's very fired up from time to time.” “
A third fan added: “He's arguably the biggest football mind there's ever been. Of course his insight as a commentator will quickly be recognized as an all time thing. Give him more time and if he chooses to stay in the booth He'll have no equal for insight, what he brings to every game.”

Tom Brady's Fox Sports Contract
