Is Kanye going after Kim and her business?
Even though Yeezy has been controversial for multiple reasons lately, Kanye West's fashion brand is still going strong.
Now, Ye is planning his next Yeezy adventures.
Part of this means seeking revenge on perceived enemies. And part of that means going into direct competition with Kim Kardashian.
Is Kanye West attacking Kim Kardashian with his women's collection?
On his Instagram story on Tuesday, January 21, Kanye West threatened “The Yzy women are coming next.”
Next to a photo of a black bodysuit — the kind we saw on Bianca Censori — Ye wrote: “SCALING INNOVATION.”
He then added: “For anyone wearing clothes who doesn't work at Yeezy, be afraid, be very afraid. »
Using a seemingly random capitalization pattern and disinterest in punctuation, Kanye West began complaining about “corporations” that were “overcharging the community while ignoring my vision and direction.”
As he talked about people wanting money from him and wanting him to partner with Adidas, he announced: “I have a John Wick vendetta against all fashion companies. »
Adidas ended its collaboration with Kanye in 2022. At the time, you made numerous anti-Semitic comments and praised Adolf Hitler. John Wick is an entertaining film series that plays out like a violent revenge fantasy with interesting world-building.
Is Kanye West launching his own version of Skims shapewear?
In recent years, Bianca Censori has worn bodysuits allegedly designed by Kanye.
We all remember how, for years, Kim and several of her siblings wore the distinctive neutral brown and beige tones of the fashion brand Yeezy.
While critics claimed the looks were “dull” and even “hideous,” the Kardashians' influence helped make Yeezy a well-known fashion brand.
Some on social media believe Kanye may have been behind Kim's iconic Skims shapewear brand.
(You're not exactly famous for his modesty or ability to filter himself, so it's unclear why or how he would keep this a secret if it were true)
Either way, his new Yeezy women's clothing line could put him in direct competition with Kim Kardashian's clothing line. And, given his “revenge” mindset, perhaps that was part of his motivation.
Will this new line be a success?
Of course, major studios have recently been reluctant to work with Kanye when it comes to his music.
It's possible that potential customers would prefer to buy clothes from someone who is a little less friendly with white supremacists.
That said, a bare minimum of moral discernment may be too demanding of the average consumer. Some people may even buy Yeezy products out of spite and defiance at the suggestion that it is wrong to do so. People make choices every day.
