Scarlett Vickers' mother, Sarah Hall, reportedly told authorities that the father and daughter were “messing around” in the kitchen. During the training, Hall said Simon “didn't realize” he had “thrown something” at Scarlett.

As soon as paramedics arrived, Simon claimed Scarlett had 'run out' towards him. The couple further claimed that Simon had picked up a spatula, not realizing the knife “was with him”, and had thrown it at Scarlett.

“We were making tea, making fun of the games and started throwing objects at each other,” Simon told authorities.

In addition, he reportedly revealed that he and his family were “intoxicated” after watching football.

“It wasn't even hard, it wasn't anything, I don't understand,” Simon told police.
