Abigail Breslin stands with Blake Lively in a raw #MeToo essay

Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of fostering a “hostile work environment” on the set of “It Ends With Us.” The actress also claimed that Baldoni “disregarded accepted industry protocols when filming intimate scenes and used a lack of control on set to behave inappropriately.”

Reacting to the news, Abigail Breslin shared an emotional and lengthy post titled “Women = Scapegoats.”

The investigation was conducted in accordance with SAG-AFTRA guidelines, ultimately finding no evidence of wrongdoing.

While Eckhart has not publicly addressed the allegations, a representative for Breslin emphasized that she “unequivocally” stood by her confidential statement.

“When did the word woman become synonymous with the word scapegoat?” she began. “In light of the recent events of an attempt to destroy the career and livelihood of an actress and a woman, I feel compelled to write this because unfortunately I have been exposed to the same toxic masculinity all my life.”

“In my recent career, I have raised concerns with a male colleague and been dismissed as 'hysterical'. I was told my fears were figments of my imagination,” the actress continued.

Breslin, who first filed a complaint against Aaron Eckhart in 2023 after they worked together on “Classified,” said her experiences, along with Lively's, highlight a “pattern” of behavior that appears to be becoming the “norm.”

In her complaint filed with the California Department of Civil Rights, Blake Lively claims Justin Baldoni hired crisis PR strategist Melissa Nathan, who is known for representation. Johnny Depp in his high-profile 2022 defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard.

Lively alleges that Baldoni and his crisis communications team orchestrated a “retaliatory social manipulation campaign” during the promotion of her film, allegedly aimed at damaging her public reputation.

“There seems to have been an uprising (after the #MeToo movement in 2017), a new wave of appreciation for those who were abused, degraded, vilified, silenced and it was loud. But it was a noise that I can only liken to fireworks,” in his Breslin added in a Tumblr post. “It can wake you up from a peaceful sleep, it burns so bright and squeezes you out, but then it burns out—just as it is.”

“And when the smoke clears in the sky and the ash and debris is swept away from the sidewalk, behind closed doors—to them—we're still just noisy women,” she continued. “So we all go about our business until the next wave of injustice comes.”

She then specifically referred to her previous “confidential complaint against a colleague for unprofessional conduct” that was later disclosed against Eckhart. She admitted that she was “under the foolish and naive impression” that her concerns would be taken seriously.

“Instead of believing and protecting, I was sued for daring to speak out. In the process, I was publicly shamed and defamed,” the actress continued. “The reputation I had cultivated over 2 decades was now ruined as I became a crazy, paranoid and, to quote directly, 'hysterical and wild' woman who apparently just liked men.”

Several prominent figures have come out in support of Blake Lively following her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.

That includes “A Simple Favor” director Paul Feig, as well as Lively's “Sister Underpants” co-star Amber Tamblyn. America Ferreraand Alexis Bledel.

Colleen Hooverauthor of “It Ends With Us”. also expressed their supportwho were joined by co-stars Jenny Slate and Brandon Sklenar. “@blakelively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met,” the author wrote on Instagram Stories. “Thank you for being exactly the person you are.
