Amid TikTok ban, Lizzo shares theories and says, 'I'm not afraid'.

American rapper Lizzo has shared her thoughts on TikTok prohibition in America and her theories about it.

On Friday, the Supreme Court upheld a federal law that effectively banned the social media app in America.

The law took effect on Sunday, meaning millions of Americans who used TikTok can no longer access it.

TikTok was one social media app known for its trending and hilarious videos. Thus, rapper Lizzo could not help but refer to the recent trend of the app's response to the ban in the United States.

The “Truth Hurts” singer shared a post on her Instagram page mourning the death of the app.

She posted an obituary from a TikTok user who read: “In loving memory of Takesha “TikTok” Woods.”

The obituary also included TikTok's funeral on January 19, sunrise in September 2016 and sunset in January 2024.

In the caption of the post, Lizzo wrote, “They really took her… MY SHAYLA.”

Many Lizzo fans found Lizzo's post hilarious and took turns bemoaning TikTok's ban in the US.

She shared a picture of herself in a hammock and added a caption referencing recent events around the world.

Lizzo wrote: “UFOs hovering in the ocean, Trump is president, planets are literally about to align, they discovered multidimensionality.”

The rapper added: “A spaceship exploded over the Gulf of Mexico, TikTok is ending?! The moon has been full all week.”

In another post before the TikTok ban took effect, Lizzo slammed the US government, although she expressed optimism that the social media app “will be saved.”

She said per USA Sun“I know all the stuff that goes on, but you know how mentally abusive people like to say things that scare you and make you feel inadequate, and they get some kind of sick, twisted satisfaction out of it?”

Lizzo asked, “Don't you think the government likes to see us stressed and scared and afraid? It really does. So no, I'm choosing not to be afraid right now. I'm not afraid.”

The “Tempo” rapper also shared a video by TikTok user Atheisticdeist, which featured a man wondering why the US Congress chose to ban TikTok instead of fixing the many problems affecting the population.

Lizzo captioned the video“I saved this right before the TikTok blackout. Now I'm sharing it here.”

Heidi Montag chose to be playful in her latest message on the app. She shared a video in which she screamed: “They say there's only five minutes left on TikTok! Oh no, what are we going to do? No, no, no.”

Montag added: “Please Jesus, we need this, help our family, please God.”

Social media influencer Kelsey Pumel shared an emotional video titled “Goodbye Freedom of Speech”. In the clip, she blasted the federal government for focusing on the wrong things.

Pumel said, “I just still can't get over the fact that the government literally cares more about an app that has not been proven to pose any of the threats that our country claims it poses to children literally (killing) at school. health care epidemic, failure afford housing, homeless people.”

Meanwhile, Madeline Cameron, who has a large following on the app, called for calm and hoped outgoing President Joe Biden or President-elect Donald Trump would intervene.

Cameron's hope for government intervention appears to be taking hold as President-elect Donald Trump shared a message via Truth Socialcalling for an extension before the federal law banning TikTok takes effect.

He wrote: “I'm asking companies not to keep TikTok in the dark! I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the time period before the law's bans go into effect so we can make a deal to protect our national security. The order will also confirm that no company will be held responsible for helped TikTok black out before my order.”

Trump said Americans deserve access to the upcoming inauguration and related events. He proposed a joint venture with 50% US ownership to secure TikTok's future, arguing that it would preserve the app, ensure proper governance and recoup huge value if the US approved the deal.
