Over the past few days, Andi Dorfman had a reason to rejoice – and then a reason to be very worried.
First, the former Bachelorette star gave birth to her first child with husband Blaine Hart on December 20, announcing their daughter's blessed arrival via Instagram at the time:
“28 hours of work later and we are officially a group of three.”
Dorfman was later hospitalized.
Less than a week after giving birth, Dorfman underwent surgery to remove hematomas…or collections of blood that form outside of blood vessels.
“Well, we’re back!” This time for mom,” the reality star wrote on her Instagram Stories on December 27, delving into more detail as follows:
“When I got home, I was in a lot of pain and it was getting worse every day.
“Even though the internet said healing takes time, I still felt like something was wrong and finally, after trying all the home remedies, I called my doctors and they told me to come immediately.”
The 37-year-old continued:
“Turns out I had a large and a small hematoma that was causing the pain. Within hours, we were at the hospital and being prepared for surgery.
“A very simple procedure but still quite terrifying to have a 6 day old baby (plus lots of hormones still hiding).”
Yeah, for sure. We can't even imagine.
New mother Dorfman admitted she felt 'some guilt' worrying se instead of her daughter, “but I realized she was worthless if I wasn’t worth good.”
And the ABC personality imparted a valuable lesson to others, too.
“It doesn’t matter how clueless you are about motherhood,” she added.
“You always know your body best!” Listen to him! Yes, recovery is hard and everyone is different, but your instincts are valid (and probably right).
Previously, Dorfman and Hart introduced their daughter, along with her name, with an adorable family photo on December 22.
“Introducing…Harper Bell Hart. Our sweet girl came into the world weighing 7 pounds 13 ounces and towering like her daddy at 20.5 inches! » they wrote in a joint post on Instagram.
“We are more in love with her than we could have ever imagined. I'm crying on the spot just looking at her and daddy is completely wrapped around her pretty little finger…
“Thank you for all the wonderful wishes you sent and a huge thank you to our daughter for making us the sweetest, proudest and toughest parents ever! It truly is the greatest gift we have ever received.
