Who else was friendly at the funeral?
Despite the viral photos and videos, the AP said former Democratic President Bill Clinton and his Republican successor, George W. Bush, also spoke cordially with Trump. In addition, the president-elect also shook hands with his former vice president, Mike Pence. You might recall that Pence was a loyal ally until he refused to endorse Trump's bid to remain president after losing the 2020 election to Biden.
While Barack Obama, Bill and George seemed warm to The Donald, Gov. Gavin Newsom recently swung back toward Trump. A day before Carter's funeral, the president-elect took to Truth Social to blame Newsom for the wildfires currently raging in California. For his part, Gavin and his communications director accused Trump of playing politics during a deadly crisis.
