Big brother alum Tyler Crispen is great at handling surprises like finding out you just got engaged and welcomed your first child!

“Best kept secret ever,” Crispen, 29, wrote Instagram Tuesday, Jan. 14, along with photos of his newborn daughter, Carter Rae Crispen, who was born on Sunday, Jan. 12. “Your mom and I love you more than anything in this world.”

Crispen, who was runner-up on the CBS reality series' 20th season, called his daughter “the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.” Although he did not reveal the mother's identity, he surprised his followers by referring to his partner as his “fiancée” while thanking his loved ones for their continued support. He also shared a small Polaroid of the duo, captioning it “Mom and Dad!”

“My fiance (oh yeah, double surprise) would like to thank all of our close friends and family for helping us keep this little secret and showering him and us with all the love,” he continued. “I'm the luckiest guy on the planet .”

Many former Big Brother stars started families after leaving the CBS show. The reality star also added photos of Carter via her Instagram Stories, calling him “My Everything” and adding “Girl Dad” to her bio.

Fellow of Crispen Big brother alum quickly took to his comments section to congratulate him on the exciting line of news. Season 21 runner-up Holly Allen wrote: “Way to launch 👏 That smile in the last picture is too cute. Congrats!!!” while Dana Briones added: “Tyler! Congrats. The girls are besssst. Happy for you three!! 🩷🩷🩷.”

Earlier this month, Crispin spoke briefly about his new romance in an appearanceThe exclusive with Sharon Tharp” podcast, sharing what was behind the decision to keep his relationship out of the spotlight.

“It's just something we talked about early on. If anything, it just strengthens the bond, because it can be hard for someone who's in the public eye to be with someone who's not,” he explained. “And I remember how hard it was for me to get into it at first. It's crazy when you go from hearing your friends and family's opinions about you when you go to a show, to coming out and hearing opinions that are thrown around 24 hours a day. It's not easy to deal with.”

Crispy was previously engaged on him Big brother costar Angela Rumman. The couple hit the show in 2018 and eventually bought a home together in South Carolina. In January 2021, Crispin proposed while on a beach vacation.

“Every day you feel like a dream come true and now I'm officially the happiest person on Earth,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “I will love you to infinity and beyond.”

After four years together, the duo finally called it quits in December 2022. Crispen later spoke about the breakup, recounting Us Weekly exclusively that the former always would be to be “friends”.

“I don't believe in burning bridges because she was such a big part of my life and I don't want to have to look back on those memories and have a sour taste in my mouth,” he explained. “She'll always have a special place with me and I think she knows that. I think it's good for everyone to be friends with their exes. It can work out.”
