The 52-year-old actress, who was once rumored to have dated the tech mogul, appeared to make the joke a jab at him, referring to his relentless pursuit of making a trip to Mars a reality.

Cameron Diaz threw Elon Musk into her conspiracy theory
Diaz showed off her comedic side while recently promoting her action-comedy with Foxx, leaving her “Back in Action” co-star visibly stunned.
According to Daily mailFoxx had asked Diaz to share her GOAT, or Greatest Conspiracy Theory of All Time, prompting the actress to drop a rather detailed alien narrative starring once-rumored boyfriend Elon Musk.
“All the alien accounts are always the same,” Diaz began, before adding that these aliens have “big heads, big eyes, no mouth. Telepathically speaking, long, nimble fingers.”
She added: “If you think about where we are in technology right now, we're sitting in front of a screen. We're not talking to each other. We don't have to.”

At this point in her story, Diaz mentioned Musk while deriding him as “the president.”
“And we all know we're moving off the planet now that Elon Musk is our president,” she continued. “When we get to Mars, we're really going to end up as a completely different species.”
In response to the story, Foxx told Diaz that it disturbed him, seemingly expressing how shocked he was by her wild conspiracy theory.

After a five-year hiatus, the actress returned to the red carpet
In recent weeks, the duo have appeared together to promote their film, which will debut on Netflix on January 17.
Diaz and Foxx reunited at the film's premiere in Berlin, marking Diaz's first red carpet appearance in five years.
The last time the actress appeared on the red carpet was in 2019 with Demi Moore and Drew Barrymore, when Lucy Liu was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
At the event, Diaz looked stunning in a unique look that consisted of a black top with a sheer black blouse and paired with high-waisted jeans. She completed the outfit with a long black coat and a classic penny skirt.
The actress also posed for pictures with Fox, who was dressed in a suit with a white and black striped design.

Cameron Diaz says Jamie Foxx inspired her to come out of retirement
Before filming “Back in Action,” Diaz was away from Hollywood, having retired from the industry more than a decade ago.
In a recent interview with empireshe revealed how her 'Back in Action' co-star inspired her to take a hiatus.
“I think if I were to go back and do a movie, the only person I would go back and do it with would be this guy,” said Diaz, who co-starred with Foxx in the classic “Annie.”
She added: “Seriously. I had other options along the way and I always said, 'No.' I don't, I told you… What? Jamie asked? Jamie? Oh, I can do a movie with Jamie!''

The actress has not decided to take on new roles
While fans are gearing up to see Diaz in “Back in Action” when it debuts on Netflix, the actress is still undecided about joining any new acting projects in the near future.
“I don't know how I feel about it. It's hard to say,” Diaz said empire. “If I say that, it becomes that thing. I reserve the right to say no to never see the movie again, and I reserve the right to say yes if I choose to.”
She added: “I don't define anything. I'm just open to whatever makes sense for me and my family at any given time.”
After decades in the Hollywood spotlight, Diaz had taken a break to focus on her family. She has two children, daughter Radix and son Cardinal, with husband Benji Madden.

Diaz said, “That's what we depend on, so you have the commitment to work at it.” She noted that the therapy keeps her and Benji from doing “the same thing over and over again.”
According to Daily mailthe actress added that therapy prompts her and her husband to ask, “Why didn't it work? How can I make it work? What's my part? What's the other person's job?”
Diaz also emphasized how the therapy taught them to be “self-aware” and “a little more equipped to hopefully achieve a different outcome.”

The “Charlie's Angels” star explained, “(It helps us) either solve something or create a new understanding of a new process together.”
