Craig Melvin he will be missed Hoda Kotb today and every day.
The NBC anchor, who will replace Hoda after her last appearance on Today On January 10, we shared what it was like as the show prepared to say goodbye to a TV icon.
“It's bittersweet,” Craig exclusively told E! News at first Today launch event in New York on January 7. “Every day it’s just a rollercoaster of emotions.”
The 45-year-old shared that they had many surprises planned for Hoda, who he called “the heart and soul” of Todayadding, “I’m really, really, really sad about this.”
But it will also be a change for Craig, who will have to “get up a little earlier” for his new role.
And while he didn't do “a lot of emotion,” he admitted he was “also a little nervous about Monday.”
In fact, Craig feels “equal parts excited and nervous every day,” noting that he's actually looking forward to his second show in Hoda's spot more than his first.
