On Sunday night, Demi Moore won her first Golden Globe for her performance in The bottom.
Her humble acceptance speech was one of the highlights of the evening, and fans are hoping for a repeat of her Oscar performance.
But Demi's big night was somewhat overshadowed by an unexpected controversy involving Kylie Jenner, among others.
Did Demi Moore give Kylie Jenner the cold shoulder?
As you probably know, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have been dating for a while now.
The stars are pretty secretive about their relationship, but they were first spotted together in April 2023.
So no one was surprised when Kylie was alongside Timmy at last night's ceremony.
But while Kylie may be a billionaire businesswoman with one of the largest social media followings on the planet, she's not an artist.
And award shows consist solely of artists singing each other's praises.
Perhaps that's why Demi didn't seem very interested in chatting with the reality TV star.
Yes, in a clip that quickly went viral on TikTok, Demi appeared to snub Kylie by stopping at her table to chat with Elle Fanning.
As you can see, Demi greets the other stars at the table, but she seems to pass over Kylie on her way from Elle to Timothée.
A divided response
For obvious reasons, Kylie fans were outraged by this perceived snub.
But outside of that bubble, the reaction to the images was mostly pro-Demi. Some even went so far as to give more praise for not kowtowing to Kylie.
“Why the hell is Demi getting flak for not recognizing Kylie (who was sitting in the audience looking smug and unsmiling for most of the night). Demi doesn't have to kiss the K-ring!! it's the opposite! News flash, Kylie: you're not even an eighth as important as you think you are,” one wrote. Page six commentator.
“What was DM supposed to do, bow down and kiss KJ's ring?” Smh,” added another.
“The only reason Kylie is here is her boyfriend. What talent does she have besides stripping and showing us her latest plastic surgery? It seems that's all the Kardashian/Jenner clan is capable of. She has no business being here and I wonder if Demi knew who she was,” a third chimed in harshly.
“Honestly it’s annoying that she (KJ) is here,” observed a fourth.
You get the idea. All in all, it was a big night for Demi.
Not only did she win her first ever Golden Globe, but it seems she also gained quite a few new fans simply by overlooking Kylie!
