Demi Moore breaks silence on Bruce Willis' dementia

Demi Moore opens up about Bruce Willis' battle with dementia.

Bruce and Demi were married from 1987 to 2000, and while their divorce wasn't entirely civil, they developed a stable friendship and co-parenting relationship in the years that followed.

She rarely speaks publicly about her ex, but Demi opened up recently when asked about Bruce's condition.

Discussion with Christiane Amanpour about her new film The bottomDemi Moore made some candid comments about her ex's courageous fight.

“Given the data, he's in a very stable situation right now,” the 62-year-old actress explained in an interview with CNN.

“And I've shared this before, but I really mean it. It is so important for everyone who is facing this to truly meet them where they are, and from that place there is so much love and joy.

Demi added that Bruce's condition is “very difficult” and is “not what I would wish on anyone.”

“There is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come from it. »

Bruce's Battle

Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in February 2023.

The illness forced him to step away from public life, but those close to him continue to take stock of his condition.

“To Bruce's incredible supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive abilities,” wrote Bruce and his family on Instagram at the time of his diagnosis.

“As a result, and with great consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

They continued: “This is a truly difficult time for our family and we so appreciate your continued love, compassion and support.

“We're going through this as a strong family unit and we wanted to bring his fans out because we know how much he means to you, just like you mean to him. Like Bruce always says, 'Live it' and This is exactly what we plan to do together.

Bruce and Demi share three daughters: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.

And even though it's been nearly a quarter of a century since the A-list stars split, it's clear that the father of her children still holds a place in Demi's heart.
