Dear white peoples Deron Horton has been focusing on his recovery after being involved in a recent shooting.

“First of all. I want to praise God for covering and protecting me through this and countless other situations,” Horton, 32, wrote. Instagram Thursday, January 16. “Everyone who checked on me gave a special shout out to my family and friends who I love, thank you.”

Horton uploaded several photos of his injury – including x-ray which showed the bullet in his hand.

“Gettin shot a few days before Christmas def wasn't on my wishlist 😂🎅🏽,” he continued. “But it happened when a bullet shot through the car at me, broke my arm and all kinds of os…. But I'm blessed not to end up in a coffin or paralyzed.

Horton noted that he's not focused on “healing,” adding, “I have a plate n screws in my MF arm so I can't train for a minute, which I'm mad about BUT it could have been worse! And I don't need any sympathy, I'm bounced, I feel great 💯💯.

He concluded, “I just wanted to remind you and myself to keep God first! Be alert and grateful for everything. the devil can't stop when you walk with God🙏🏽.

The actor received support from his former costars in the comments section, including Ashley Blaine Fetterson-Jenkinswho appeared on Dear white people. “Thank God for your life. I'm so SO happy you're okay,” she wrote.

Logan Browninganother star of the Netflix series, left an emotional message that read: “Dear God, thank you for protecting my special Deron ❤️‍🩹.”

Horton considered it an honor spend time with Washington on the reception area.
