Drake delivered a new freestyle that seemingly blasted Lakers star LeBron James and others for enjoying his West Coast beatdown.
Yesterday legendary producer Conductor Williams delivered a new freestyle with Drake. 2024 wasn't the best year for Drizzy, but for what it's worth, he was the most streamed rapper every month heading into the new year. When freestyle first came out, it didn't have a name, but the official name was later dubbed “The Fighting Irish Freestyle” for good reason.
In the recording, Drake talks about his West Coast beating by Kendrick Lamar and calls out people who applauded the tragedy.
“The world fell in love with gadgets, even my brothers got tickets/They looked like they were loving every minute of it/Just know this shit is personal to us, and it wasn't all business/The Analysis patterns of behavior is somewhat suspect/Niggas never been happy for me when I raise the numbers/Or when I break world records again, while I down a Guinness/Or when I get my fifth Maybach because the color is different/'Member we exchange watches I gave you this Arabic dial, you gave me a numbered edition/You would even watch my son like a pediatrician/Of course I convinced the gang that shit was rooted in love when it ain't/Show me how different we are, there's blessings in juxtaposition/I guess now boys you gotta let go of your tradition summer » rap Drizzy making sure the target is discovered.
Each bar suggests that Drake is talking about his relationship with LeBron James, who often spends his summer with Drizzy for Carabana. It is alleged that Drake and LeBron have already exchanged watches, adding another key identifier to the record. It's in the second verse that things take an interesting turn.
“And niggas cried blues for you, saying it wasn't malicious/Talking about our family, well I ain't the cousin to visit/God forbid we tarnish your public image”
We all need Drake to be real here, ruining LeBron's public image because he attended Kendrick Lamar's “The Popout” and rapped a few lyrics, that's some crazy talk. LeBron's relationship with Kendrick and TDE is well documented and expecting him to choose sides is crazy.
However, to be fair, Drake's beige angst is just as understandable, it's show biz and you can't trust anyone. Remember it was Drake who told us that people always change and that we shouldn't have new friends.
