Ronald Greene was beaten to death by multiple Louisiana state troopers in 2019 following a high-speed chase. BOSSIP reported on the incident in 2021 after the body camera video footage was finally made public and the lies of the officers involved were exposed. Prior to this release, the official police report stated that Greene died instantly after hitting a tree, but once the public saw what really happened, the call for accountability and justice was strong and relentless.
Unfortunately, these calls went unanswered because, according to NOLAfederal prosecutors decided that Robert Greene deserved to die and that the officers who killed him were simply doing their job by killing him. The U.S. Department of Justice recently met with Mona Hardin, Green's mother, to inform her that no criminal charges would be filed against the men who needlessly killed her son. Their decision was so cowardly that a spokesperson for the Western District of Louisiana declined to comment or offer an explanation. At the time, one of the officers involved in the attack was heard boasting about what he had done, saying: “I beat him, I beat him, I choked him and everything the rest… “
Former Baton Rouge Chapter NAACP President Eugene Collins said:
“In the absence of justice here in Louisiana, I at least thought the federal government would do something good,” Collins said. “I think it has to be said that this family has failed through and through.”
Hardin reacted to this devastating news via BRFier:
“There will be no satisfaction. There will be no closure. But for my son to be killed the way he was tortured or handcuffed and chained, everyone has to look at those details,” she said.
It's monstrous how these moronic cops and even crazier prosecutors behaved. If criminal justice is not an option, we surely hope that the justice of the universe will bring pain and suffering to all those who allowed the senseless death of Ronald Greene to go unpunished.
