Florence Pugh recalls filming a sweaty scene with Andrew Garfield eight times

Florence Pugh recently discussed the challenges of filming her upcoming film We Live In Time.

The actress recalled a physically difficult childbirth scene with her co-star Andrew Garfieldwhich she had to film more than eight times.

This comes after Florence Pugh highlighted the difficulties of being a young woman in Hollywood and the importance of standing up for yourself.

Pugh revealed the challenging yet rewarding experience of filming a “sweaty” and “exhausting” scene with Andrew Garfield in We Live In Time eight times.

Talking to The sunThe 29-year-old actress explained: “I've always wanted to do a love story. You actually get a sense of the relationship and what point they're at in the relationship through their style of sex.”

Despite the physical toll, however, Pugh, who portrays Almut in the film, described the experience as exhilarating.

“It was insane and it was amazing,” Pugh said. “The only problem was I didn't have a baby coming out. So I was so exhausted and sweaty and tired and I didn't have any endorphins or anything. We were working with a midwife.”

She added: “Exhausting, amazing, exhausting, so beautiful to watch because it's just about life. And it was like Andrew and I were going to have a baby and it was really, really beautiful. It was so emotional, it was like how would we have a child.”

Pugh also shared that she worked with “seven dolls” and “one real-life baby” during the intense birth scene to make the image as authentic as possible.

During an appearance on the Reign With Josh Smith podcast, she revealed that she entered the entertainment industry during the Me Too movement, emphasizing how important it was for her to stand up for herself.

The actress explained: “It's really hard. It's also exhausting. It's really, really exhausting. There's so much for young women in this industry to fight for, protect, defend and then scream. It's really, really hard. It's experience and it makes you figure yourself out.

Reflecting on her experience, she said, “I'm proud of my stances, especially during the 'Me Too' and 'Time's Up' movements, and it was really important to lead those moments with other women.”

“Now I can only take care of myself, I take care of my heart and that's where I am right now. I wouldn't have changed a thing. I'm really proud of the things I stand for,” Pugh added.

Regarding the progress made for women in the industry, Pugh acknowledged the improvements, but stressed the need to fight for fairness and equality.

“Now we're in a time where it's definitely getting better for women, but that doesn't mean you don't have to constantly fight for the things you think are right,” she noted.

Pugh continued, “I've always been proud of the way I stand up for myself, whether it's on Instagram or in interviews. I've always been proud of the way I'm not afraid to speak up for myself.”

Pugh also spoke about the importance of managing her mental health while tackling some of the intense roles she has portrayed.

Reflecting on her role in 2019's Midsommar, Pugh admitted she felt like she had “abused” herself because of the emotionally demanding part.

She shared, “Self-defense is something I've had to learn to do. There have been a few roles where I've given too much and then I'm broken for a long time.”

The actress remembered Midsommar in particular and said, “I definitely felt like I was abusing myself in the places I was in. When you figure these things out, you have to say, 'Okay, I can.' Don't do it again because it was too much.

“But even then, I look at that performance and I'm really proud of what I did and I'm proud of what came out of me. So I don't regret it,” Pugh added.

Pugh discussed her decision to shave her head for her role in The Time We Live In, where she plays a woman battling ovarian cancer alongside Andrew Garfield.

“If I hadn't been able to shave my head, I wouldn't have accepted this film. I think it's so important to do it,” she said. Cover media. “If you lend yourself to a story like this, if you lend yourself to a cancer story like this, I couldn't not do it.”

The “Black Widow” star described the scene as a touching and tender moment in the film.

She explained: “The scene was always very beautiful… This couple made it a beautiful act that their daughter could remember and it didn't have to be sad. The sun was going to come out. They were going to have a chair outside.”

Pugh added: “They had biscuits and tea and they were all going to shave mummy's hair and they were going to cover it. I added the collection because I wanted to keep my hair this time.”
