George W. Bush pats Barack Obama on the stomach at Jimmy Carter's funeral

George W. Bush gives new meaning to the presidential greeting.

The former president was one of several American leaders who attended the funeral of Jimmy Carter at the Washington National Cathedral on January 9, and people couldn't get enough of the moment he shared with Barack Obama.

As he entered the cathedral for services, Bush, who was accompanied by his wife Laura Bush– went to sit next to Obama, who was already sitting next to the president-elect Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump.

As the Bushes passed, Obama stood up to let them pass, leading to the moment when President Bush gave Obama a friendly pat on the stomach with his hand before sitting down.

The interaction quickly went viral, with many raving about the relationship between the Bushes and the Obamas.

“Tummy patting is remarkable,” one user posted onformerly Twitter. Another joked“I just watched this 100 times without blinking.”
