There are many reasons why fans love it Buffy the Vampire Slayer so much, from compelling characters to brilliantly quotable dialogue. And of course, all the great romances fueled by one of the hottest on-screen chemistry in network TV history. Many didn't have more chemistry than Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz, but their steamier scenes weren't as sexy during production for a strange reason: every time Buffy and Angel shared a kiss, they were absolutely breathtaking. terrible because of the crazy Gellar's crazy pranks.

This strange ritual between Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz dates back to their early days Buffy kiss in the season 1 episode “Angel”. Sometimes Sarah Michelle Gellar didn't settle for sabotaging her breath before the Buffy/Angel kiss and opted for other fun pranks instead. A great example of this is when she deliberately pinned her clothes very tight before scenes where their characters were supposed to get hot and heavy. Poor David Boreanaz would have to make their on-screen intimacy still look both naughty and cute while making out with a costar whose clothes were stuck very firmly in place.
Another time, Sarah Michelle Gellar decided to make fun of David Boreanas on her show with a prank Angel episode “I'll Remember You” where Buffy and Angel did a lot more than a kiss. This was the episode where the vampire was transformed into a human, allowing him and Buffy to finally get the job done without losing their souls. Unfortunately, he discovers that the world needs his vampiric power and turns back time to become a creature of the night again. It's a powerful and emotional episode until you find out that Gellar deliberately spilled ice cream on Boreanaz in an attempt to foil one of his acts.
It might ruin the magic to find out that Sarah Michelle Gellar tried to ruin every one Buffy kissing Angel with bad breath and other pranks, but this particular tale has a silver lining. All the pranks helped the two actors bond and they continued to hang out and have fun with each other even after Boreanaz started filming. Bones.
